Biography

Dr. Yi Jenny Zheng M.D., Ph.D.

As a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine as well as the American Board of Gastroenterology, Dr. Zheng is double board certified in Gastroenterology & Hepatology, as well as Internal Medicine.

Dr. Zheng's expertise in Gastroenterology and Hepatology developed during her time at USC, where she trained with world-renowned faculty like Dr. Loren Laine, President of the AGA (American Gastroenterology Association), and Dr. Neil Kaplowitz, past president of AASLD (American Association for the Study of Liver Disease), and author of the Textbook of Gastroenterology.

After ten years at Kaiser Permanente, the opportunity to work with a wide variety of patients from all backgrounds is what inspired Dr. Zheng to open her own practice.

As a firm believer in prevention, the focus of Dr. Zheng's practice is colon cancer/polyp screening, Barrett's esophagus, esophageal cancer screening and stomach cancer screening, as well as screening and prevention of fatty liver and cirrhosis.

Understanding that chronic digestive disease can severely impact a patient's ability to enjoy life, Dr. Zheng also makes forming close relationships with her patients a priority.

Dr. Zheng collaborates closely with referring primary care providers as well as colleagues from other specialties like endocrinologists, surgeons, oncologists and radiologists to support patients with complex conditions.

Our Team

Daniel Zhu

Office Manager, with us since 5/2020

Daniel studied business and data science at UC Berkeley. He manages all business operations for the practice, including insurance contracting and partnerships. In addition, he is the Executive Director of Bay Area Health Resources.

He is an experienced social entrepreneur who is passionate about making healthcare accessible and equitable. Daniel's past consulting work has included included building health care systems for regional and state governments, as well as community clinics and our country's largest healthcare organizations.

Outside of his consulting work. Daniel enjoys cooking, spending time with family and coaching public speaking.

Daniel is also fluent in Chinese (Mandarin)

Andrew Zheng

Office Lead, with us since 5/2020

Andrew is a senior at Acalanes High School. He is interested in the intersection of life sciences and management, and helped our practice set up many innovative solutions like Fibroscan and capsule endoscopy.

He also founded his high school speech and debate team and has been a successful competitor at the national/international level (4th at national tournament 2025, ranked first internationally by points, all-time TOC bid leader, 4-time qualifier to nationals)

Andrew is also fluent in Chinese (Mandarin)

Mica is a recent graduate from UC Davis with a B.S in Human Biology and minor in Public Health. She is passionate about preventative healthcare and serving patients with the upmost care. Mica is interested in the medical field and is applying to medical school in the future.
